Nobody wants to feel deprived and yet many of us go on strict calorie-reduced diets that leave us feeling hungry, agitated and unhappy. Let’s STOP that! It is important to incorporate healthy snacks into your nutrition plan to help you feel more satisfied and energetic throughout your busy day. Not all snacks are created equal though. Below you will find comparisons between snack options. The point here is that with a little knowledge and planning, you can enjoy snacks that are healthy, more filling and satisfying.

Almond Joy Shake
This is one of my favorite recipes! I love to make this in the evening for dessert. I blend it for a long time until it gets really thick and frosty. I feel like I’m having the most indulgent treat, yet I am getting 70 healthy ingredients that provide me with the protein, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytonutrients, prebiotics, and digestive enzymes that help me achieve optimum health, increase my energy, promote regularity, and lose weight… all in one glass. A real treat with real nutritional value!
Almond Joy Shake
1 scoop Chocolate Shakeology powder
1/2 cup almond milk
3/4 cup water
1 tsp coconut extract
1 tbsp almond butter
Ice to desired consistency

Ginger Berry Peach Shakeology
8 oz Peach White Grape juice
1 scoop Greenberry Shakeology powder
.5 to 1 oz piece of ginger root
Ice to taste

Chocolate Cherry Delite
Throughout the month of September, I will post yummy Shakeology recipes I have tried myself and love. I have found a lot of benefits with Shakeology and truly believe in the product. My husband and 22 year old college student daughter has at least one Shakeology shake every day as well. When I first started drinking Shakeology, I noticed I was digesting my food better and my stomach felt less bloated. Then I started noticing I had more energy and less cravings for fatty and high-carb foods. Recently I noticed that my fingernails and hair is growing at a much faster rate than before. My manicurist and hairdresser both commented on the change, so I know it’s not just my imagination. By nature, I am not a huge chocolate fanatic. I rarely eat chocolate and never crave it, so when I began Shakeology, I started with the Greenberry flavor. Greenberry Shakeology has a refreshing flavor and I just felt healthier drinking it. I like the flavor of greenberry and have a lot of delicious recipes I make with it. About a month ago I ran out of my Greenberry, so I started drinking my husband’s Chocolate Shakeology – and I love it! There is something about the rich flavor and the cool creaminess of Chocolate Shakeology that makes me feel like I’m really indulging each time I have it. I now have a whole bunch of Chocolate Shakeology recipes I can choose every morning and if I’m really craving something sweet at night, I will make another shake with a little frozen yogurt and other healthy, but scrumptious add-ins.

Chocolate Cherry Delite
In a blender combine the following ingredients:
1 scoop Chocolate Shakeology powder
4 oz. vanilla soy milk (or regular milk)
4 oz. water
1/2 tsp of cherry extract
3/4 cup of frozen dark sweet cherries
Ice to suit
